Your Questions, Answered

What does "best price guaranteed" actually mean?

If you can find a like-for-like quote from another licensed plumber that beats ours, we won't be beaten on it. The figure we give you upfront is the one we stand behind.

What does "$65 off your first service" cover?

A straight $65 taken off the fixed figure we quote, applied the first time we're on your property. No voucher to print and nothing to remember on the day.

How does your pricing work for drain jobs?

One fixed figure, worked out once we've had a proper look, never a running hourly meter. Nothing happens until you've said yes to that figure.

How do I pay?

Card, transfer or cash, whatever suits on the day. Because the figure was agreed before we started, there's no haggling on the doorstep once the job's done.

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

Try the plunger first if it's a single fixture. Anything beyond that, chemical products and hired eels risk more damage than they're worth, and a drain that won't stay clear needs a licensed plumber to track down why it's happening.

How experienced are you with drains?

15+ years' experience, most of it on Sydney's drains and sewers specifically. That covers everything from older earthenware lines to newer stormwater systems in riverfront developments.

Who actually turns up?

An owner-led team, with the director still working jobs directly. We also carry a specialist who focuses on drains and sewers, brought in when a blockage won't stay cleared.

Are you licensed and insured?

Licence #292427C covers us, insured across both water and gas.

What happens after I call?

We talk through what the drain's doing, get a time booked in, and give you an honest read on the cause the moment we arrive, before anything gets touched.

What counts as a drain emergency?

The house filling with sewage smell, a stormwater outlet that can't keep up during a downpour, or a toilet running over and not stopping. Any of those means calling straight away instead of waiting it out.

How quickly can you clear a blocked drain?

We aim to have it flowing again the day you ring, not a promise reserved for the lucky few. Most jobs on this peninsula get booked and finished within hours of the call.

Are you really open 24 hours?

Ring at 3am and see for yourself. A live person picks up, works through what's wrong, and gets someone moving toward you, no recorded message involved.

Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?

The boundary usually sits at the connection point: your pipework up to there, Sydney Water's network beyond it. It's guidance, not a legal ruling, and if it's unclear which side is at fault, working that out is part of the visit.

Why do older Mortlake homes keep getting blockages?

The surviving cottages from the gasworks era before 1940 mostly still drain through their original earthenware pipe. Age has made that pipe brittle, so a section that's cleared once can shift and block again.

How local are you, really?

Ask us the punt timetable and we'd probably get it right. This peninsula, right down to a coffee near the Palace Hotel between jobs, is part of the weekly rhythm, not an occasional detour.

Why does my drain block again after heavy rain?

This peninsula sits low against the Parramatta River, and a downpour paired with a high tide can push more water at the stormwater lines than they can shift. Low-lying stretches like Bayard Street feel it first.
